Abstract

Physician and surgeon from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala and neurologist from the Pontifical University, Paraná, Brazil; in addition to having a specialization in neurophysiology. Head of Neurophysiology Services at the Hospital San Juan de Dios, postgraduate university professor in her specialty, member of several medical organizations in neurophysiology, both national and international. In addition, activist for the rights of Creoles and main promoter of the recognition of their identity. In August 2014, the Ixim order granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports to the leadership of indigenous and Afro-descendant women had been imposed. A year later, in March 2015, the USAC University Institute for Women also publicly recognized her for her outstanding work as a university teacher and researcher.

Anthropologist, ethnomusicologist. Senior researcher at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. Author of various articles on his specialty. Editor of the Journal of Ethnomusicology Senderos.
