Honorability, a fundamental value for public service
Keywords:
Public administration, recognized honorability, social ethics, public oversightAbstract
The honorability of public officials is an issue of paramount importance to society. Many only see it as a vague and chimerical concept. For others, it is something that is only demanded of adversaries and automatically attributed to friends. The current constitutional crisis teaches us, however, that it is an issue on which we should begin to reflect and debate as a Nation. Fully understanding the essence and attributes of this key notion is an inevitable starting point to truly understand what public service is, and what it should be.
