It focuses on how these diseases share common risk factors and emphasizes the need for public policies aimed at reducing the prevalence of these risks. The article acknowledges that the <br>Food and Nutritional Security Policy (POLSAN) includes risk reduction and should be considered a ‘State Policy.’ In this regard, all state institutions must ensure that new laws, programs, norms, resources, and state efforts are directed toward its implementation. The Salvadoran and Honduran portions of the basin encompass 986.7 km² and 1731.98 km², respectively. This area, which harbors mangroves and supports livelihoods like fishing and subsistence agriculture, has been heavily impacted by extractive projects.<br>The climate outlook for the Gulf region is not promising. This study presents a predictive analysis of climate change impacts on the Goascorán River Basin, using extreme maximum temperatures and dry days as variables. The results indicate a potential increase of 1-2 degrees Celsius in temperature under a moderate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions scenario for the 2011-2090 period. Additionally, the basin could experience up to 300 days without rain (essentially 10 months per year).
