Remote Assessment: Detriment or Benefit to Learning?

During the confinement derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, several educational centers implemented virtuality, which some continue to use when it is impossible to do so in person. So the question arises: what is the effectiveness of the remote assessment of fifth-year high school students at a private school? The research sought to identify advantages and disadvantages of this modality through a mixed approach, with concurrent design and descriptive scope. An intentional convenience sampling, not probabilistic, was carried out with 5 teachers, 22 students and 22 parents. The result reveals that students highlight advantages, such as access to reference materials, while teachers see automatic grading as an advantage. However, cheating among students and the lack of preparation worry professors and parents.
